Weight Lifting

Its important and beneficial for older adults to continue training in order to stay healthy, active and fit. Training is essential for strength, mobility, flexibility and balance.

Age related loss of muscle mass is a natural part of ageing. After age 30, we can begin to lose between 3% to 5% per decade. We can slow down this process and indeed increase and maintain muscle through regular resistance training.

I assess each clients individual health and fitness levels before we start training and personalise sessions to your specific needs and goals. If there are any health issues or illnesses, training can begin as long as their doctor has given consent.

From experience I have found that even if there was some initial reluctance or worry around exercising, my clients have “relaxed” into the training on the realisation that training is both beneficial and fun.
